Sandown Park Tips

Since its opening in 1897, Sandown Racecourse, situated in the outskirts of London in Esher, Surrey, has been a prime venue not only for horse racing, comprising six Grade One National Hunt events and a singular Group 1 flat race, but also for a range of activities such as concerts, car exhibitions, wedding fairs, and private functions.

The track hosts 24 race days annually, offering races that stretch from five furlongs on the flat to those exceeding three miles for jump events.

Sandown Park is governed by the Jockey Club, an entity that manages 15 racecourses across the UK.

Sandown Park Jumps Course

This right-handed course brings a challenging test of jumping due to the succession of fences on the back straight, seven in total. The proximity of the last trio, known as the ‘Railway Fences,’ demands precision from skillful chasers.

As participants enter the final stretch, they must negotiate the Pond Fence before tackling an intense uphill drive towards the finish.

This five-furlong track is characterized by its consistent incline, running through the center of the jump course.
