His resume reads like a highlight reel: carving a path for the Swiss team in the 1994 World Cup, steering the ships of Inter Milan, Liverpool, and West Bromwich Albion, and taking Fulham to the brink of glory at the UEFA Europa League finals in 2010.
Another feather in his cap includes his tenure over the England national team, leading them to the Euro 2012 quarter-finals and through the 2014 World Cup's last 16. Alongside England, Hodgson has lent his guidance to the national teams of Switzerland, Finland, and the UAE.
With the curtain seemingly drawn on his career in 2021 as he retired at 74 after a Crystal Palace stint in the Premier League, Hodgson surprised many by picking up Watford's managerial reins the following season after Ranieri's departure.
Barely two months sailed by before Hodgson made a dramatic homecoming to Selhurst Park after Vieira vacated his role as the latest Premier League coach to step away. Signed on until the close of the 2022/23 season, Hodgson's tenure might extend if he can assure Crystal Palace's vitality in the league.
